With this amount of money one could provide the foundation for permanent housing arrangements for 25 people. With an average housing price in the Dallas area of $210,000; a year’s worth of property taxes and insurance; and the payments for 5% 30-year mortgage for a year 25 people could be provided with a home for up to a year paid for so that they can adjust to obtaining permanent employment, transportation, and assistance with any legal issues or other considerations without worrying about being homeless. I will not discuss a comprehensive policy. There is also an additional $451,000 available for necessary legal and title fees. This also includes TODAY getting them off the streets, by budgeting up to $100 per night for them to stay in a hotel room for up to two weeks or up to $50 per night at a hostel or short-term weekly hotel.
